John Lloyd Cruz, Cristalle Belo + more at the Met Museum’s launch of The Philippine Contemporary

See who went to celebrate modern and contemporary art.

(SPOT.ph) The Metropolitan Museum of Manila broadens its boundaries with the addition of a permanent exhibition, The Philippine Contemporary: To Scale the Past and the Possible. The exhibit is divided in sections: Sphere is host to the works of a particular artist, theme or style, while Direction is a venue for the younger generation to present their art. Curated by Dr. Patrick Flores, The Met is giving attention to the wide variety of media used in modern and contemporary art, showcasing traditional forms such as paintings and installations, along with more popular forms like comics.

A diverse group of art patrons welcomed this new venture and the likes of John Lloyd Cruz, Kim Atienza, and Miriam Quiambao were present at the Gala, hosted by Tim Yap and Cristalle Belo. Check out who else received a breath of fresh art!
