Two Pinoy actors are heading to the U.K. to join Miss Saigon
We're so proud!
Â
(SPOT.ph) After Filipina actress Rachelle Ann Go bagged a role in the West End production of Hamilton in November, it seems that there's no stopping Filipinos from making it big in international theater this year. In a report by Broadway World on April 11, it was revealed that theater actor Red Concepcion and Pinoy Pop Superstar champion Gerald Santos will be joining the cast of the forthcoming U.K. tour of the legendary musical Miss Saigon. It is set to open in July at Curve Theater in Leicester, England.

Red Conception has starred in PETA's Caredivas, Resorts World Manila's Annie, and Music Artes' Godspell. He was awarded Best Actor at the 27th Aliw Awards in 2014 for his performance in Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Â
Gerald Santos rose to fame after winning the singing reality show Pinoy Pop Superstar in 2006 and was then dubbed as "The Prince of Ballad." He played lead roles in Gantimpala Theater Foundation's Sino Ka Ba Jose Rizal? in 2011 and Redlife Entertainment's San Pedro Calungsod, The Musical in 2012.
Â
Filipinos in Miss Saigon is nothing new to us. Rachelle Ann Go took on the role of Gigi Van Tranh in the West End revival in 2014. And who can forget Lea Salonga's portrayal of the lead role Kim in the original West End and Broadway productions of the musical? She even snagged a Tony Award and became the first Asian woman to do so.

Break a leg, you guys!
