(SPOT.ph) We've heard it all: "The pen is mightier than the sword," "All I need is a sheet of paper and something to write with, and then I can turn the world upside down" (Friedrich Nietzsche), "No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world" (John Keating), and so on. But this June, Filipino actor and director Abner Delina Jr. will explore the power of words through a very interesting medium: A one-man theatrical performance. Weight of Words (WOW) runs from May 31 to June 2 at The PARC Foundation in San Juan City and from June 15 to 16 at Pineapple Lab in Makati City.

Delina, a graduate of Arts Management at the College of St. Benilde, has previously worked with PETA, Tanghalang Pilipino, and Sipat Lawin. He has also received awards and recognitions from PhilStage Gawad Buhay Awards and ALIW Awards.

As an arts advocate, Delina founded Black Canvas—a platform that promotes creative collaboration to tackle social issues. Weight of Words is part of this company's vision to bring people together through the healing power of words. This performance will also present perspectives on the issues of bullying and mental health.
Weight of Words runs from May 31 to June 2 at The PARC Foundation, 494 Lt. Artiaga Street, Corazon de Jesus, San Juan City; and from June 15 to 16 at Pineapple Lab, 6503, R. Palma Street, Poblacion, Makati. Tickets, priced at P350, are available through Ticket2Me.
