The Manila Clock Tower Museum Is Now Open on Weekends

(SPOT.ph) You might've heard of the Manila Clock Tower Museum, likely on social media as that free and interactive museum with panoramic views of Manila City. But raise your hand if you haven't gotten around to visiting, given that it's open only on weekdays. Well, all that's going to change come March 2 as the Manila Clock Tower Museum will now open on weekends.

Manila Clock Tower Museum's Weekend Schedule

When it first opened to the public in 2022, the Manila Clock Tower Museum—a.k.a. the country's first-ever clock tower museum—located on the fourth floor of Manila City Hall, was only open to the public on Tuesdays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Naturally, given this schedule, those still studying or have full-time jobs would find it hard to squeeze a visit into their calendar. 

"Narinig namin kayo! Due to public demand, we are now open every Saturday and Sunday, starting March 2, 2024. You can now enjoy our museum during your rest [days]," says the post. But before you go rushing to the Manila City Hall this weekend, you should know that reservations and advanced bookings are required to visit the Manila Clock Tower Museum. The museum administration, however, has yet to release guidelines on how to book weekend visits and has advised patrons to wait for further announcements.

What to See at the Manila Clock Tower Museum

The Manila Clock Tower Museum features an immersive and multi-sensory experience curated to tell the history of Manila. Aside from having the usual gallery featuring the leaders and officials of the city, there are also video presentations and a 3D-wall installation highlighting key moments in the Battle of Manila. 

The museum also houses several works of art by Filipino artists such as Rene Robles, Sherwin Paul Gonzales, Nante Carandang, and Tawid Gallery.

But aside from an art and history lesson, guests can also enjoy scenic 360-degree views of Manila, including nearby Lawton and Intramuros, from the top of the tower. It also has a small museum café serving light snacks and refreshments.
