In celebration of tomorrow's International Museum Day, May 18, museums in Metro Manila are offering freebies, discounts, and even free entrance to their galleries and exhibits. Check out this list and go museum-hopping on a Wednesday!
The Yuchengco Museum is offering a day of free admission to all exhibits and galleries, including Aze Ong's Liwanag sa Kawalan ng Kulay, Tony Gonzales and Tes Pasola's Suspended Garden, Danilo Arriola's Light in the Darkness, and a lot more.
The Yuchengco Museum is at RCBC Plaza, Ayala corner Senator Gil J. Puyat Avenues, Makati City. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
National Museum of the Philippines
Entrance to the National Museum is free not only for May 18 but for the whole month of May. After all, it's National Heritage Month. Visitors may receive collectors' items throughout the day if they arrive early for the free lectures.
The National Museum of the Philippines is at P. Burgos Avenue, Manila. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
MET is offering a day of free admission to all its exhibits and galleries. There will be free guided tours at 11 a.m. (The Philippine Contemporary: To Scale the Past and the Possible) and 2 p.m. (TAPAS: Spanish Design for Food) and a free screening of Litsonero (2009), a full-length movie by award-winning director Lore Reyes, at 3 p.m.
The Metropolitan Museum is at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Manila. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Museo ng Kalinangang Pilipino at the Cultural Center of the Philippines will be open to the public free of charge from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The museum beside Greenbelt will be celebrating International Museum Day on May 20, instead of May 18. Aside from free admission to the museum, visitors get to enjoy a local food fair.
The Ayala Museum is at Makati Avenue corner Dela Rosa Street, Greenbelt Park, Makati City. it is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
