Doodle all you want, swap artwork + more at Free Space this weekend
Celebrate Independence Day with art!
(SPOT.ph) On June 12, we commemorate 118 years of Philippine independence and sovereignty. What better way to celebrate than to participate in the ultimate expression of freedom: creation? Art Sundays presents Free Space, a one-day art festival on the eve of Independence Day, June 11, from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., at 110 Benavidez Street, Legazpi Village, Makati City.
Free Space will feature a “freedom floor,” an 850-square meter lot where anyone can draw, write, and doodle, as live acts ranging from spoken word to Pinoy music will float in the background. Several local craft-related booths that offer food, drinks, handmade goods, and art prints will also be set up around the area.
An Art Trade Tree, courtesy of Art Trade MNL, will also stand in a corner where you can swap your creations with others. To trade at the Art Trade Tree, your 3.5-inch by 5-inch artwork (painting, drawing, sketch, typography, or calligraphy) should be ready before June 11. Hang your work on the tree and pick another. You get to keep a piece of artwork made by a fellow artist.
Art Sundays consists of individuals from different backgrounds—business, advertising, science, and engineering—who share their passion for the arts. It was founded in 2013.
