(SPOT.ph) As part of its Inspire Every Day campaign, the Ayala Museum in Makati City is waiving its 350-peso entrance fee and will be open for free on Saturday, July 30. This is coupled with a diverse set of pocket events from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. so be sure to wake up early!
With the tagline “Inspiration Got Us Started, Passion Keeps Us Going,” Ayala Museum is calling everyone to share their passion for art, culture, and history. Visitors are free to enter both the Ayala Museum and the Filipinas Heritage Library to enjoy its permanent exhibitions on Philippine historical events, pre-Hispanic gold from the Philippines, indigenous Philippine textiles, Asian trade ceramics, and Fernando Zobel paintings. Also on view are special displays, such as: Object Travelogue/ Dialogue, an exhibition showcasing objects from the Ayala Museum collection that have been flown in different parts of the world to be featured in landmark exhibitions; Sanso: Setting the Stage, an exhibition of the artist’s stage and costume design work as a scenographer enriched by reproductions of his designs by artists Toym Imao and James Reyes; and The Diary of Tetsuya Noda: Steven Co Collection, artworks that visualize intimate, autobiographical scenes in the life of Japan’s leading contemporary printmaker. There's also a special collaboration between Viva Manila and the Philippine Lego Users Group depicting the grand architecture of old Manila. We're guessing it'll be a Lego display!
Slated throughout the day are activities where guests can get up close and personal with some of today’s renowned Filipino artists like photographer BJ Pascual, filmmaker Jerrold Tarog, and painter and calligrapher Anina Rubio.
