Join over 30 art and musical workshops for just P50 at the CCP
Pasinaya launches "Workshop All You Can!"
(SPOT.ph) Since 2004, the Cultural Center of the Philippines' Pasinaya Open House Festival has welcomed artists and art enthusiasts to its all-day dance, music, and theater performances; film screenings; and activities in visual arts and literature in various venues inside the arts hub. The biggest arts festival in the country has also expanded its shows to partner museums and galleries around Manila in the past two years.
For 2017, the latest addition for Pasinaya is one whole day of Palihan (a.k.a. Workshop All You Can) of various art forms for all ages on February 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are 40 short workshops to choose from, all facilitated by the country's leading artists and teachers. For a suggested donation of only P50, participants may go in and out of the different Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) venues to attend 30-minute workshops in hip-hop, ballroom, folk dance, ballet for babies, modern ballet, musical theater, musical instruments, film critiquing, and others. There's even a Baybayin-writing workshop.
The Palabas portion of Pasinaya 2017 is on the next day, February 5, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. CCP resident companies will perform excerpts from all shows of the upcoming season as a sneak peek. Like the Palihan, it's an "Experience All You Can, Pay What You Can” donation scheme for the admission.
With the theme "Arts for Peace," this year's celebration of the National Arts Month is part of CCP's efforts to "[build] bridgeways to peace through various multicultural collaborations, expression of art forms from various cultures around the country and world, [and] telling stories about people and communities who strive for peace," according to CCP Artistic Director Chris B. Millado
Pasinaya 2017: Palihan at Palabas is on February 4 and 5 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. For more information, visit the CCP Website.
