This Comic-Con Lets You Get in For Only P30

Manix Abrera will be there!

(SPOT.ph) Comic book events in Metro Manila don't come until the latter part of the year. Though you can always catch up on reading your favorite books anytime, it's always nice to join festivals where you can geek out on anything comics. ELBIKON, an annual comic convention at the University of the Philippines - Los Baños, seems to be a good idea if you're not doing anything this weekend. It will be held on February 17, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Baker Hall.

This is the fifth year that ELBIKON, the largest gathering of comic creators in Laguna, is taking place. Apart from aiming to boost the local comic scene, the event is also part of the celebration of National Arts Month and the University of the Philippines' yearly school fair.

There will be over 100 exhibitors selling their works, such as Manix Abrera of Kikomachine Komix, Toto Madayag of Libreng Komiks, Richard Mercado of Uy Si Crush, and Marian Hukom of Marianie. Artist talks and free workshops by Mac Andre Arboleda, EK Gonzales, and Rafael Gombuc will also be held as pocket events.

ELBIKON is on February 17 at Baker Hall, University of the Philippines - Los Baños, Laguna. Tickets, priced at P30, are available through graphicliteratureguild@gmail.com. For more information, visit ELBIKON's Facebook page.
