Tondo Gets a Pop of Color With This New Mural by a Well-Known Group of Street Artists
It's easy to find!
(SPOT.ph) Tondo, the largest and most populated district in Manila, is often associated with violence, grime, and unsavory characters. Ironically, it is home to one of the oldest churches in Luzon—the Santo Niño de Tondo Church. Ang Gerilya, a group of street artists known for their culturally inspired murals, is adding a bright spot of color to the area through a religious painting on one of the town's walls.
Located along Zaragosa Street, the newly painted work of art depicts the image of the Child Jesus with Tondo Church in the background. It is right beside a convenience store and a pawnshop by the public market so it's hard to miss.
Tondo celebrates the feast day of the Sto. Niño every third Sunday of January. Their fluvial procession attracts thousands of visitor year after year.
this strange new world.
