This Weekend Auction Lets You Take a Trip Down Memory Lane
Voltes V Model Toy, an old Pentax, and more.
(SPOT.ph) Auctions are often associated with old furniture, rare silverware, and other designer items. But the upcoming weekend events of Salcedo Auctions' Gavel and Block prove that things you can bid on don't necessarily have to be boring. Editions I and Editions II let you walk down memory lane by presenting vintage cameras, old toys, coin collections, and other finds that may remind you of your most cherished childhood memories. The back-to-back auctions are set on July 28 at Three Salcedo Place in Makati City.
Some of the most interesting collectibles include a Mazinger Z Jigsaw Puzzle, a Coca-Cola Miniature Cooler Coin Bank, a Voltes V Toy Model, and a model of a 1937 sedan. There's even a coffee salon percolator that's made from plated brass. Collectors would be glad to know that there's an array of vintage cameras, from a 1950s Ihagee to a 1960s Yashica; international stamps; old bank notes (including the controversial 100-peso bill where former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's name was spelled as "Arrovo"); and a 1906 one-peso coin that will be under the auction block. These will all be featured on Editions II, which starts at 4:30 p.m.
For those into art, sculptures, and other decor, there's Edition I which starts at 2 p.m. Works of art by Fernando Zobel, Ang Kiukok, Arturo Luz, and other Filipino artists are to be auctioned off.
Editions I and II of Gavel and Block: Salcedo Auctions is on July 28, 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. respectively, at Three Salcedo Place, Tordesillas Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City. For updates, visit Salcedo Auctions' website.
