For the First Time Ever, Virtual Reality to Be Part of Art Fair Philippines
See the work-in-progress by Issay Rodriguez.
(SPOT.ph) Technology, specifically virtual reality and augmented reality, continues to change the way we experience things. Gaming has gone beyond pressing buttons on a joystick and into walking, running, and jumping in a virtual world teeming with zombies just by wearing a virtual reality (VR) headset. Mobile phones now use augmented reality (AR) to "change" your surroundings and simulate another world, taking role-playing games to new heights. And soon, VR and AR technologies will be making their way into the arts through Issay Rodriguez's project for Art Fair Philippines 2020. The much-awaited arts festival is taking place from February 21 to 23, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at The Link in Makati City.

Rodriguez's work draws inspiration from the life of bees, which will immerse the audience in a simulated and interactive beehive-like environment. For the technical side of things, she worked with artist Raha Rodriguez for visual rendering, .G/FK/DS, a multimedia duo specializing in motion graphics and 3D animation; and Imagine Realities Studios for the VR and AR technology. The project is curated by Sandra Palomar of art/n23.
