(SPOT.ph) Every February, the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay CIty opens its doors and welcomes the public to a series of workshops and performances. These shows are on a see-all-you-can-pay-what-you-can scheme with minimum price at P50, and is always a much-attended weekend activity with every run. Unfortunately, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) announced that they are canceling Pasinaya 2020—which was initially scheduled from February 8 to 9—following the growing global threat of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
“As the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus as a public health emergency of international concern, we urge the Filipino people not to panic and remain calm. Let us work together to prevent the virus from spreading. Let us remain vigilant and keep safe,” said CCP artistic director Chris Millado in a statement.
Likewise, Art Basel Hong Kong 2020 is also canceled "due to the severe outbreak and spread of the new coronavirus." The annual art festival is supposed to open on March 19 with 242 galleries expected to participate. Art Basel Hong Kong revealed that their next run is from March 25 to 27, 2021.
