(SPOT.ph) After hinting about their imminent reopening, Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library in Makati finally confirmed that the renovated facility is welcoming guests for a soft opening on December 4. The museum went on hiatus in June 2019 for what was supposed to be a one-year closure for renovations. The pandemic, obviously, extended this to a little over two years. As a silver lining, the long-awaited reopening perfectly caps off Ayala Museum's 60th anniversary.
What's New at Ayala Museum
Designed once again by Leandro V. Locsin Partners, the Ayala Museum's new lobby already adapted the "new normal" sensibility with all the available space. Five exhibitions will be unveiled alongside the launch of the new website for an integrated offline-online experience. There's also a Digital Gallery made up of eight sprawling screens where visitors can digitally explore objects from the museum and the library.
Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library have also embraced the omnichannel approach, which means that everything within the premises are digitally connected. Onsite exhibitions, for example, will be supported by exclusive content that's available in the upcoming Ayala Museum mobile app.
The soft opening is accessible to the public with prebooked admissions, timed entries, and limited capacity. The rest of the galleries will be unveiled by the first half of 2022.
