(SPOT.ph) At the height of the pandemic, museums in Metro Manila had to adapt to the times by going online. Exhibits used 360-degree views, art talks shifted to Zoom sessions, and other displays had to come up with Internet-activated gimmicks. But it's just not the same, especially for museums that value interaction, such as the Museo Pambata in Manila City. Finally, the country's first interactive children's museum is reopening after more than two years of hiatus. The big day is on September 25.
While most museums, theaters, and cinemas opened at the tail end of quarantine restrictions, Museo Pambata only had half-day sessions on poem reading, storytelling, and art workshops and limited museum visits that lasted only a day (during Manila Day, for example) in 2022. In June 2021, they opened Bahay Pukyutan, which is an outdoor playground that's inspired by a beehive. But other than these one-off events, Museo Pambata was closed for most of the pandemic.
If you wish to visit the children's museum once again, just log on to their Google Form and wait for a confirmation message. Aside from a museum tour, there will be art workshops, children's bazaar, music performances, and more.
Museo Pambata is at Roxas Boulevard corner South Drive, Manila. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission fee is P450. For updates, follow Museo Pambata on Facebook.
