3. Fruity frozen yogurt flavors at Tutti Frutti

US-based yogurt café, Tutti Frutti, will open its first Philippine store at the 4th Level of the Atrium at the SM Megamall on Saturday, August 8. With over nine flavors (can you imagine green apple and peach, mango fro-yo?), it promises to be a must-try, even among frozen yogurt naysayers.

4. Let's Makan at Xin Tian Di


Go on a Singaporean foodfest at Crowne Plaza's Xin Tian Di. From August 1 to 31, get your fill of Singaporean dishes that change every week, with  Malay-Indian-Chinese dishes  staples such as Singaporean Chili Crabs, Singaporean Fish Head Curry and Hot Pepper Chicken. From August 1 to 8, enjoy Nasi Lemak, Nasi Biryani, Laksa, and  Beef Rendang, all prepared by Singaporean Chefs Sam Lee and Anita Rajan.


Chef Lee told that he spent six days in Singapore just shopping for 50 kilos of spices like cardamom and blue ginger just so they could get the authentic Singaporean taste down pat. Chef Rajan personally trained a Filipino server from Xin Tian Di to be a Teh Tarek man for their roving milk tea cart. It took them about a month to prepare for the festival, which had been on Chef Lee's wish list since he was assigned to Manila four years ago. We were there at the launch and everything tasted pretty authentic!

5. Comfort food at MoMo

With yummy desserts and choc-nut based creations like the ChocNut Valrhona, MoMo's got the posh (but affordable) dining concept down pat. They just opened a new branch at the Eastwood Mall, for north dwellers who love their comfort food at the Robinsons Manila branch.
