(SPOT.ph) Let’s face it: we’d be the last to tell you that eating healthy is an easy feat, especially with all the good food places popping up in Manila these days. So we’re relieved that there are places thatmake it easier to squeeze in a quick serving of fruit and vegetables, even in the middle of a crazy workday.
Pump Juice Bar, which opened last month in Alabang, serves beverages made from fresh ingredients, with no artificial colors and preservatives, and-save for honey-no added sweetener. It’s a healthier option for those watching their sugar and calorie intake. Each item on the menu also comes loaded with an energy boost to get you "pumped" up for the day.
Juicy tidbits to try include the Supreme Smoothies (Medium P150, Standard P170), which are creamy and filling meal replacers; Fruity Smoothies (Kids P120, Medium P140, Standard P150)-velvety, satisfying, laced with a refreshing fruity burst; and Naughty Smoothies (Kids P125, Med P145, Standard P155), so named because they remain relatively guiltless indulgences even for those on a diet cheat day. The yoghurt used in their smoothies is a specially prepared 98% fat free concoction.
Other items on the menu include Fresh Fruit Juice (starting at P175), Fruit Crushes (Kids P115, Medium P135, Standard P145), freshly grown Wheatgrass Shots (P80), and specially formulated PUMPS that promise weight loss aid, vitality, energy, immunity, and brain power. Customers can add this to their drinks without altering the taste. Non-beverage items such as gourmet sandwiches, breads, and bite-sized dessert lollicakes are also available.
