Makati Shangri-La holds a South African Feast

 

(SPOT.ph) While a vast majority of Filipinos are going places and traveling abroad this summer, a lot of us are stuck here for various reasons. Though that may seem like a bummer, it doesn’t mean you can’t experience the world where you are.

 

The luxurious Makati Shangri-La partnered with the Embassy of South Africa to bring a five-day South African food and wine festival called, "A Taste of Rainbow Cuisine: Celebrating South Africa." From April 22 to 27, Makati Shang honors Freedom Day with this fantastic feast. Now here’s your chance to, first, "travel" sans filing leaves and packing your bags; and second, learn more about South African food. Apart from the food festival, there will be cooking lessons on April 24.

 

Freedom Day will be celebrated through all of the hotel’s dining venues with each of Makati Shangri-La’s restaurants showcasing the colorful flavors and ingenuity of the South African cuisine. Circles Event Cafe, for instance, will have Beef Frikkadels with Tomato Chutney on offer; the Lobby Lounge will feature Amarula Chocolate Truffles with African teas; Red will feature Seared Venison Carpaccio served with Grilled Goat’s Cheese and African wines, while the traditional braai (barbecue) can be had at Conway. As though all that is not enough, groups of at least five will get the chance to win roundtrip tickets to South Africa from Etihad Airways. What a way to spin the saying, "we’re bringing the party to you."
