SPAM releases limited edition Tocino flavor online
It’s real! It’s tocino!
(SPOT.ph) For those who want to get the most out of their breakfast, SPAM has launched a tocino-flavored version of their popular luncheon meat. The flavor, which combines two Pinoy breakfast favorites, is available on the SPAM website for $3.
Tocino was introduced to Filipinos by the Spanish. In the Philippines, strips of pork (usually the fattier part of the belly) are seasoned with anise, salt, and sugar, then cured for a few days. The strips are usually fried before service. SPAM, well, it needs no introduction.
According to the the website, it has "limited availability in stores" and that "prices may vary." Excuse us while we check our neighborhood supermarket.
