Kouign Amann from KA by Cicou (P50 to P60 per piece)

Crispy, flaky, buttery-these are only three from the multitude of positive adjectives that can describe the perfect kouign amann. A traditional French pastry, the kouign amann is a round dough made up of buttery layers and caramelized sugar. In Manila, Chef Cyrille Soenen does it best. Just before the end of 2014, he put up KA by Cicou in SM Mega Fashion Hall to further showcase his creations. The mini versions are perfect for trying out a variety of flavors including coffee, lemon, cheese cake, and ensaymada. Savory options are also available, including bacon and cheese, sundried tomato and basil, and chorizo.
