(SPOT.ph) With over 1,000 branches scattered in a total of 22 countries, Outback Steakhouse is the largest steakhouse chain in the world.  In the Philippines, there are only four, with 10 years between the latest out in Blue Bay Walk and the one before that.

The Outback Steakhouse on Macapagal Avenue in Pasay is a 170-seater store that boasts high ceilings, a cleaner and more modern look, along with its already established food and service. Their famous Kookaburra Wings (P299) are still the usual crisp, spicy chicken wings; their mouthwatering Typhoon Bloom (P349) the same battered and fried strings of onion strings.

The open-flame grilled Rib-eye steak (P1,469) sustains its tenderness, and everyone's favorite meal-ender, the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under (P329) remains ever reliably molten, with the gooey chocolate cake topped with chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream.

Bone-in Ribeye

Outback also launched a new, limited-edition line of Butcher Cuts of which the star is the Bone-in Ribeye Steak (P2,495). Cooked to your preferred temperature (how about a pink and juicy medium-rare?) and fired up over an open flame, it's large enough to share along with two sides.

Chicken (P375), half of it, is smoked and glazed, then served with coleslaw and Aussie fries. Pining for swine? Pork lovers will be pampered with the bone-in goodness of the Porkchop Porterhouse (P799).

Outback's Butcher Cuts will be available in all branches only until March 15, but we can hope that it won't take another 10 years before they make them available again.

Other Outback Steakhouse branches are at Glorietta 4, Ayala Center, Makati City; Acropolis, Libis, Quezon City; and Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City.
