Cafe Publico’s "Pope" ice cream is still available for ordering in advance
Pope Francis may have left, but his flavor remains.
(SPOT.ph) Why bother with Pope Francis fans and T-shirts, when you can have Pope-flavored Italian ice cream?
Cafe Publico’s Pope gelato isn’t made up of, well, popes. Instead, it’s composed of Fior d’ Latte, made with fresh milk, eggs, and cream. The flavor is described as the "purest of gelato" and then blessed with vestments of crunchy gold sprinkles-to match the Pope’s "purest intentions and a heart of gold." Every spoonful is a smooth bite: nothing sinful, just a light sweetness in an airy-heavenly-cloud of ice cream.
This divine dessert was offered in time for the Papal visit. It’s off the menu now, but customers who want to try this delicious benediction may order it in small batches. An order of 400 grams is P400, 800 grams is P800.
Cafe Publico is at 2/F Promenade, Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City (513-9481).
