Eric Kayser Philippines now sells macarons

You may have some competition, Ladurée.

( Whether it’s the threat of Ladurée’s impending arrival or just a fancy for bright-colored filled cookies, Eric Kayser Philippines isn’t letting up on the macaron department.

The French boulangerie has been selling macarons internationally for years, but it was only last week (January 12) that the nearly year-old local franchise managed to squeeze it into their menu.

Eric Kayser’s macarons, which come in flavors like Chocolate, Vanila, Lemon, Coffee, Dark-Chocolate Raspberry, and Pistachio, cost P50 apiece and are available in boxes of six. The price is certainly competitive with macaron-famous brands like Chez Karine and Bar Dolci, which peddle theirs for the same price, Bizu for P45, and Sweet Bella for P60. The price of a macaron at Ladurée, which is set to open sometime this year at the Lopez Tower, is rumored to be P140 each.

The macaron trend, which exploded from 2012 to 2013, may be having a turnaround. According to a sales representative at Eric Kayser Power Plant, stock is quick to run out.

Eric Kayser has branches at Promenade, San Juan; Power Plant Mall, Makati City; Rustan’s Makati; and Market Place, Bonifacio Global City.
