Behold! Cheetos now comes in Cinnamon Sugar flavor
Cheetos is now Sweetos.
(SPOT.ph) Hot on the heels of Oreo’s sugary Red Velvet and Cream Cheese flavor comes another sweet treat-from a company that you wouldn’t expect: Cheetos. The leader in cheesy cornmeal snacks is going for figurative cheese instead, with a new, limited-edition Cinnamon Sugar flavor under the moniker "Sweetos."
According to USA Today, this is the first sweet profile for the 67-year-old Cheetos. The flavor, inspired by the success of holiday editions of fellow Frito-Lay brands, is part of a long-term campaign to test more unconventional snacks. Sweetos Cinnamon Sugar will reportedly cost $3.49 a bag.
The purple and polka-dotted snack aims to share in the $2.2-billion Easter sweets market, according to the report. Indeed, instead of the usual elongated shape, the Sweetos Cinnamon Sugar will have an Easter Egg pattern. Jeff Klein, vice president of brand marketing for Frito-Lay North America, is confident that their sweet chips will make a dent in this particular holiday.
From looks alone, we imagine them to be some sort of cinnamon-tinged Moby (those local chocolate-flavored cornmeal snacks that come in a red-orange foil packet). We wonder if they come in Crunchy or Twist.
