Antonio’s Fine Dining in Tagaytay makes Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list

It’s the first time the Philippines has made the list.


( The Philippines finally breaks into the acclaimed Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, with Chef Tony boy Escalante’s Antonio’s Fine Dining in Tagaytay debuting at No. 48.


Of his inclusion, Chef Tony boy says, "To be considered one of Asia's 50 best restaurants is both an honor and a humbling experience... It is also a statement that Filipino cuisine is ready and waiting for the world." Antonio’s was also selected as the S. Pellegrino Best Restaurant in the Philippines.

Rising to the top spot this year is 2014 third-placer Gaggan in Bangkok, Thailand. Former winner Nahm, also in Thailand, went down to No. 7.


This year’s list, the third since it began, was announced yesterday, March 9, at an S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna-sponsored ceremony in Capella Hotel, Singapore.


Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants is organized by William Reed Business Media. The list essentially curates the experiences of over 300 industry experts, divided into six voting regions designed to comprehensively represent the Asian dining scene.
