(SPOT.ph) If there's any part of the world where Valentine's is celebrated on a truly sweet note—literally and figuratively—it's the Land of the Rising Sun. Japanese folks give gifts to friends and family (in particular, women are known to give the objects of their affection chocolate!), which is a practice we can all get behind. Consider taking a page from the said custom by giving your loved ones great eats and sips from Japan. Here's where you can get exactly that: drop by the Nukumori Valentine's Fair happening until the 14th over at MITSUKOSHI BGC!

Pick up Valentine's sweets, alcoholic beverages + more from Japan at this ongoing fair in BGC:
You can thank the Japan External Trade Organization for bringing the Nukumori Valentine's Fair our way. It'll be only be open until February 14; just look for the pink set of stalls on the ground floor of the mall (and go get your OOTD shots while you're at it). "Nukumori" translates to warmth—precisely the emotion we all need this time of the year—and you can transmit just that with the selection of Japanese treats (sold in boxes) and liquor at the fair, all perfect for gifting away.
Looking for sweets for your sweet? Consider getting a box Baumkuchen from Hokkaido brand Sanporoku, known for their excellent takes on the multilayered cake of German origin. To go with your evening coffee date with the S.O., don't miss the Wakasaya Raisin Cream Sandwich Butter Rich Cookies; we know, we know, raisins tend to polarize, but the juicy rum-soaked fruit here might just make you a convert. You can also go for roll cakes from Japanese brand Shinkinedo in Plain, Amaou Strawberry (with strawberries from their own farm!), and Rainbow.
How's about a more distinctly Japanese treat? You'll want to sink your teeth into Shinkinedo's Fruit Daifuku Mochi with fillings like Mikan (mandarin orange), Shine Muscat (green muscat grapes), and Amaou Strawberry. And if you're looking for a post-V day dinner digestif—slash conversation fodder for your next Netflix-and-chill sesh, nudge nudge wink wink—consider getting one of the Japanese dessert liquors on offer: Komasa Gin Hojicha (with gin and roasted green tea from Kagoshima), Little Kiss Coffee Shochu (think Kahlua with the subtle sweetness of kome shochu), and the Black Tea Shochu (with Benifuuki black tea leaves from Tokunoshima in Kagoshima Prefecture, soaked in shochu and black sake).
The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a government-linked organization promoting mutual trade and investment between Japan and other parts of the globe. MITSUKOSHI BGC, on the other hand, is a recently opened mall in Bonifacio Global City.
The Nukumori Valentine's Fair is at G/F MITSUKOSHI BGC, 8th Avenue corner 36th Street, Bonifacio Global City. For more information, check out MITSUKOSHI BGC's Facebook page.
