(SPOT.ph) Folks living in the south of Metro Manila have always been spoiled when it comes to restaurant and café options they can treat themselves to. There are several places to eat and drink, specifically within the Alabang area and the nearby communities, so many that the idea of stepping outside the zip code doesn't seem logical. Another reason for Southerners to stay in their cozy, laidback neighborhood is the soon-to-open second branch of Japanese food spot Kiwami Food Hall in Alabang Town Center.

Quick recap: The first branch of Kiwami Food Hall—the term referring to a fancier, upscale food court—opened first in Bonifacio Global City in 2021. The concept was distinct in that it housed different Japanese restaurants: Yakitori Hachibei, Hannosuke, Ippudo, and Yabu, which were known for their grilled skewers, grilled chicken skewers, tempura, ramen, and katsu respectively. I.e., no need to hit up different restaraurants to sate different Japanese cravings! They also became famous for their in-house Hokkaido Soft Serve swirled on a homemade lengua cone that diners raved about and posted all over social media.

We don't know for sure if the second Kiwami Food Hall in Alabang Town Center will have all four restaurants and the soft serve, or if it'll launch more restaurants and branch-exclusive treats—one could only hope, dream, and manifest. We'd have to see it with our very own eyes when it opens, but if we were to take the board-up as a sign, it does look like all four restaurants are opening in the space.
