(SPOT.ph) As simple and ubiquitous as the dish might sound, rice bowls evoke comfort like nothing else. Rice, of course, is always a win for the Asian stomach; top that with any protein(s) and/or other ingredients and you've got a complete meal that can be had for breakfast, lunch, or dinner—or downed to soothe your wrecked system after a night of heavy drinking. Next time you're in need of a hunger-buster—or a companion to get you through a bad hangover—we say definitely consider the new Pastrami Fried Rice of sandwich and charcuterie shop Deli by Chele!

This time around, they're taking that same pastrami and layering it over pastrami fried rice—that's Japanese rice fried with bits of the pastrami and its juices for ya—and a sunny-side up egg with a golden, runny yolk.

Pierce into the yolk and it oozes out like lava, running over—and adding richness to—the deeply savory rice underneath. The star of the show here, of course, is their New York-style brisket pastrami, whose sharp, beefy taste and meaty bite is just the thing to make every spoonful all the more satisfying. And just when things get too indulgent, you can nibble on the some of the chopped spring onions topping the bowl before taking a bite.

Drooling yet? Deli by Chele's Pastrami Fried Rice goes for P295 a pop and can be had at any of their stores, or ordered for delivery online.

Deli by Chele is a food shop with roots as an online deli in 2020, run by Chef Chele Gonzalez, Chef Carlos Villaflor, and the folks behind Gallery by Chele. The deli makes and sells everything from charcuterie to preserves to breads and cheese made in-house, using responsibly sourced (and as much as possible, local) ingredients and zero preservatives. Soon, Deli by Chele started doing pop-ups around the city, and have since opened permanent physical shops at Rockwell, The Podium, and Robinsons Magnolia.
