(SPOT.ph) If you have an extremely high tolerance for spicy food, you might have already tried the Carolina Reaper pepper on its own, or a by-product of it such as a hot sauce or salsa. You probably have even flexed about it because, NBD, you were able to handle the "hottest pepper in the world."

Well, we're sorry to inform you that if you still want to continue flexing your ultra-high pain tolerance, you'll need to come face-to-face with the newly crowned hottest pepper in the world. Meet Pepper X.

Meet Pepper X, the new hottest pepper in the world:

Last October 9, the Guinness World Record named Pepper X the "hottest chilli pepper" in the world. With a mindblowing rating of 2,693,000 Scoville Heat Units, Pepper X has finally defeated, dethroned, and discrowned the previous reigning hottest pepper in the world, the Carolina Reaper which greatly pales in comparison as it only has 1,641,183 Scoville Heat Units.

Guinness states that Pepper X was created by Ed Currie and his company, PuckerButt Pepper Company, who are also the breeders behind the Carolina Reaper. He unveiled Pepper X in an episode of the famous YouTube series "Hot Ones."

Pepper X has this mustard color, and the bottom part takes on an olive green shade. In terms of taste, Currie, being the only person who had ever tasted the hottest pepper in the world when the Hot Ones episode aired, says that the heat was so intense that he felt the pain for more than three hours. He tells the Associated Press that he also experienced horrible cramps and that he "laid out flat on a marble wall for approximately an hour in the rain, groaning in pain."

As of writing, there's no way to get your hands on Pepper X. Currie is not releasing the seeds and further states that the pepper's seeds and plants are patented varieties. For now, the closest thing you can get to experiencing the wrath of Pepper X is through the company's Pepper X-infused products that are sold on the Puckerbutt Pepper Company website. The cheapest is the Extra Mean Green Original (Medium Heat) hot sauce, originally priced at 8 USD (the website automatically displays P500 as the price when you browse from the Philippines); and the most expensive products are the Extra Hot Gator!, The Ed Currie Experience Milk Chocolate Bar, and The Ed Curries Experience Dark Chocolate Bar, which are all priced at 25 USD (displayed as P1,500 from the Philippines) per piece.
