(SPOT.ph) Filipino flavors made their way to the City of Lights as Chef Erica Paredes started Reyna, initially as a private-dining venture before opened its physical outpost in Paris in 2022. This time she's circling back home, at least for a limited time, as the Le Cordon Bleu-trained Filipina chef will be holding a 10-night pop-up and serving an exclusive tasting menu in a hidden nook in San Juan.

Chef Erica Paredes is popping up in Manila
Save the date for Paris ♥ Manila, an upcoming food and music pop-up at Guest Room inside The Coffee Academics' recently opened Greenhills branch. This is happening at dinnertime from Wednesdays to Sundays between July 25 to August 5, with two seatings per night—5:30 to 8 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. 'til closing.
Paredes will be "launching" her new tasting menu here in the Philippines, says Guest Room's Myles Hontiveros—and it's one that's "completely different" from her ala-carte fare at Reyna. "[She'll be] showcasing the best of the best of her appetizers, mains, and desserts—something different in terms of food style, Hontiveros continues. "All the things she learned in Europe, she wants to showcase it to the to the Filipinos here."
They'll also be employing local ingredients as much as possible, and "making the most of it and still producing an excellent and delicious dish." The other highlight of the pop-up? Live music by French producer, DJ, and sound engineer R3Mi of Paris-based producer-DJ trio Starship Loopers. Expect R&B, hiphop, and light music designed to match the food Paredes will be serving.

Paredes started Reyna initially as a pop-up and private-dining venture that served clever takes on Filipino eats (think kare-kare with veal shank and eggplant confit) and would occasionally host kamayan dinners. In the process, she helped spread awareness about Filipino cuisine and flavors in Paris, and even caught the eye of the likes of Vanity Fair France. Its highly anticipated brick-and-mortar counterpart opened along Rue de Montreuil in Paris in 2022.
Guest Room, on the other hand, is a recently opened venture hosting up and coming local chefs. They're located inside The Coffee Academics' San Juan branch.
