Siklab+ is The Bistro Group's New and Upcoming Filipino Resto
And their take on Filipino is not your usual.
(SPOT.ph) The Bistro Group has a lot of exciting plans in the food scene for the next couple of months. For one, there's the board-up of Dave & Buster's we spotted at the new Opus Mall. Now, the company is launching a new restaurant concept called Siklab+ at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City.

The Bistro Group to open a new Filipino restaurant called Siklab+
Siklab+ is a Filipino restaurant that will offer a "dining experience that is both satisfyingly familiar and yet vibrantly exciting with its bold takes on the country's traditional culinary heritage with an approachable modern touch." These are classic Filipino dishes with a modern twist, to put it simply.
As with any Filipino meal, there needs to be a meaty dish to pair with rice. Just some of the viands you'll find on the Siklab+ menu are the Garlicky Squid Adobo, Pinalutong na Tadyang, Pinoy-Bistek, Siniklabang Manok, Crispy Diniguan, Bopis ni Ima, Kalderetang Kordero, Paboritong Pork Sisig, and Pinalutong na Tawilis. Speaking of the meat-rice pairing, these dishes are best eaten with any of the salty fried rice they have: Dilis, Bagoong, or Chorizo Rice.
Is it really a FIlipino meal without a vegetable dish? Siklab+'s green options include the likes of Gising-Gising Na! and Bet Na Pinakbet. As for soups or sabaw you can order a bowl of Sinigang that has different protein options: pork or bangus. There's also Bulalo Ala Eh!, and Siniklabang Tuna Belly.
Merienda needs are covered with the Special Lomi, PBG: Pancit Bihon Guisado, and Pancit Palabok while desserts include various kakanin and the Turon Trio. They've also got Ok na Okoy, Anak ng Tokwa’t Baboy, and Christmassy snacks like the Bonggang Bibingka and Puto Bumbong. The restaurant's specialty drinks are Kamias Pineapple Slush, Tsokolate at Kalamansi, Ube Kolada, Sierra Madre, and Dalandan ng Ale.
In case you're having a hard time choosing between all the Filipino dishes (it's like picking a favorite child, doesn't it?), you can solve that indecisiveness and order the can-do-no-wrong bestselling dishes as these dishes are bound to impress. There's Siklab+'s ginataang kuhol dish they're naming Kuhol ni Tanggol; kare-kare is called KKK: Klasikong Kare-Kare; and pancit negra is called Pancit Itim.
There is no exact date as to when Siklab+ is opening but the target opening month is August of this year. You can find it at the East Wing, Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City when it opens this Q3.
