(SPOT.ph) "What's your star sign? What about your rising? You're such a Scorpio."

Kids these days treat astrology like the new personality test. They'll gladly tell you your quirks and traits using your zodiac sign, date, and time of birth. Beyond that, knowing your Zodiac has taken on a deeper meaning for this generation. It's not just all about your day-to-day luck now.  For the younger kids, your Zodiac can influence the way you handle conflict, respond to stress, and, as Kas and Poly in BGC would have it, what you'll eat.

Here's how this BGC restaurant is letting the stars determine your next meal.

Check out Kas and Poly in BGC:

Kas and Poly is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in BGC. Its name comes from the twin stars of the Gemini constellation Castor and Pollux, a reflection of its owners Lorraine Consunji and Louie Sam, who are fascinated with the cosmos.

Aside from having a stellar (pun intended) name, the restaurant takes its affinity for the stars to a new level by designing a 12-plate tasting menu and dining experience on the food that best represents each Zodiac sign.

Diners at Kas and Poly can book slots for their Big 3 Sun Moon Rising Five-Course Tasting Menu for P1,950 per head or go for the whole shebang with the Zodiac Dining 12-Course Tasting Menu for P4,200. Either way, you'll nosh on a feast of Turkish, Greek, Spanish, and Italian flavors inspired by the key characteristics of each sign.

For example, the Cancer appetizer is a plate of delicately grilled squid florets with an avocado pate and a refreshing salsa fresca served on a socarrat tuile.

While you may think it's a bit tangent for a Cancer plate not to have any crab, the Zodiac representation is less on the nose but focuses on the sign's inherent characteristics. In this case, the plate of squid florets captures the nurturing spirit of the Cancer sign.

Yes, you don't have to worry about eating a scorpion for the Scorpio course, nor do you have to down an entire fish for Pisces. Every course is hinged on a loose interpretation of the different personalities of the signs. Kas and Poly doesn't need any gimmicky tricks or exotic eats to draw you in with their menu. The food here is good enough to stand on its own without the need for stardust.

Here are some of our favorite plates from Kas and Poly's Zodiac Tasting Menu:

The full 12-course menu consists of an amuse-bouche, soup, salad, three appetizers, four entrees, and two desserts. While that may seem like a lot, the portions are sized just right, so you won't feel grotesquely full after the whole meal.

Check out below the standout courses that we couldn't get enough of.

Saggitarius

The Sagittarius salad plate is a masterclass on texture. It has creamy, crunchy, and velvety bites that all interplay beautifully, thanks to its combination of couscous, salsa fresca, garlic labneh, and jamon serrano. Every bite is an ode to the Sagittarius' need for adventure, exploration, and discovery.

Like its namesake, the Taurus appetizer is rich and well-rounded. It features a flavorful chelo kebab crumble with a chimichurri-like cashew emulsion and shimeji mushrooms atop crispy puff bread. A dollop of creamy whipped ricotta adds a bit of freshness to this rather earthy bite.

Gemini

This Gemini-inspired dish is a surf-and-turf combo of grilled octopus and seared Iberico pork atop a creamy parmesan polenta. Unsurprisingly, this was our favorite plate. The octopus was grilled to perfection, lending it a soft and velvety texture with very minimal bite. Plus, the smokey flavors of the grilled pulpo and seared pork are perfectly complemented by the fresh and sweet flavors of the accompanying vegetables.

Pro tip: squeeze the lemon on the entire dish, including the polenta. Let the citrus flavor cut through the richness of this dish.

While the other dishes leave you wanting carbs, the Scorpio plate will sate your cravings. This simple yet flavorful dish features duck-jus-flavored pasta served on a squid ink sand bed topped with fried leeks. It's not as much of a flavor punch as the other plates, but its simplicity in contrast to the complex flavors of the others makes it stand out in our books.

Pisces

Chocolate lovers will go to heaven and back with this dessert. Pisces features six chocolate variations, a nod to the romantic and creative nature of the Zodiac. You've got a chocolate mousse, dark and white chocolate ganache, chocolate soil, chocolate sauce, and roasted rice. While you may think this is sweetness overload, it is actually not. The dish features the different flavor profiles you can get with chocolate, from ultra-sweet white chocolate to a dark bittersweet ganache.

Other things you can order at Kas and Poly:

Alternatively, guests who have already tried the Zodiac Tasting Menu or are dining in big groups can order from their regular menu. This features Mediterranean fare served family style. The restaurant also has a robust cocktail offering with daily promos of unlimited Sangria.

This August 1, Kas and Poly will also introduce a new plant-based version of their Zodiac Tasting Menu. Now, even vegetarians and vegans can let the stars take over their dining.

How to book seats for Kas and Poly's Zodiac Tasting Menu:

The Zodiac Dining Experience is available on Thursdays to Sundays at 7 p.m. The whole Zodiac Dining Experience usually runs for two and a half to three hours, while the Big 3 Sun Moon Rising Menu will run for an hour and a half.

As the dining experience can be pretty long, it is best to clear out your schedule for the night or leave it free and easy if you want to dine here. Pro tip: Guests get a special 15% discount when they arrive at their reservations early.

You can book your seats for the Zodiac Tasting Menu on their website or by messaging their Instagram account (@kasandpolly).
