(SPOT.ph) It's that time of the year again: Din Tai Fung is back with its annual Xialongbao Day, at its ninth run this year, too. For this year's edition, the Taiwanese restaurant is holding a week-long celebration for this world-famous plump dim sum with two new flavors.
If you recall last year's Xiaolongbao (XLB) Day, Din Tai Fung launched the Kurobuta Pork Ramen, Wagyu Pho, and Lobster Tom Yum. For Xialongbao Day 2024, the restaurant is launching two new, completely different XLB flavors—one is influenced by Singapore cuisine, while the other by China. Any guesses what these are?

Din Tai Fung is celebrating Xialongbao Day 2024 with two new XLB flavors that explore the exciting flavors of Asia. First up is one inspired by Singapore's famous noodle soup: Scallop and Prawn Laksa. Filling up this soup dumpling is a spicy and tangy broth with spicy sambal sauce and sweet coconut—plus fresh scallops and prawns for meaty bites.
The other new contender is the Wagyu Mala which gets its flavor profile all the way from China (mala, of course, refers to the signature spicy and numbing seasoning from Sichuan province). This new dim sum has Japanese Wagyu for its filling, but the broth inside has a tongue-tingling blend of Sichuan peppercorn, cinnamon, and star anise for spiced, warming slurps.
Din Tai Fung's new XLB for Xialongbao Day 2024 will come in 3-piece and 5-piece baskets, available exclusively for dine-in transactions from October 23 to 29, 2024.
