New Restaurant Alert: Satinka Naturals Bistro and Café at Kamagong Street, Makati
This neighborhood hole-in-the wall provides green plates and a hideaway for the health-conscious.
Satinka Naturals Bistro & Café
1137 Kamagong Street corner Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
(SPOT.ph) Don't be deceived by the name plastered across the unassuming building on the corner of Chino Roces and Kamagong in Makati. It makes it easy to dismiss Satinka as just a spot peddling wellness products, but its actual lure is a promise of an organic, MSG- and GMO-free meal.
Peaceful al fresco
The second-floor dining area is where you should head to: Wooden tables by the corner window offer a view of the busy street outside. Low tables with soft pillows as seats make for a cozy lounging area, best appreciated through communal dining.
The café's main sell-organic dishes, vegetarian and vegan options-does not disappoint. The Mountain Aubergine Pasta (P195), is a plateful of fresh veggies: Crusted and pan-fried eggplant and zucchini are cooked to a crisp while the tomatoes, basil, and onion leeks taste ripe and fresh.

Pesto Chicken Pasta
For those looking for vegan options, the Vegan Platter (P385) is a steal: a serving of vegan meatballs with raw zucchini and pasta tossed in basil, red bell peppers, and sundried tomatoes is served with an organic salad and a drink. Fresh fruit shakes are served in mason jars with a metal straw, a seemingly silent protest against the use of too much plastic.
Summer Cool (P150)
Sagada Yogurt with Honey (P88)
Everything about Satinka feels earthy and fresh. Soothing music from the speakers provide a calming backdrop for a healthy meal and fresh produce-bright red tomatoes and fresh greens sourced from organic farmers from North Luzon-are for sale downstairs.
Don't forget to check out their wellness products on the way out. An apothecary, which sits in the corner of the ground floor, has an assortment of healing ointments and home care products on display. Satinka also highlights organic coffee: choose from their Sagada, Benguet, Kalinga and Arabica blends.
The café is currently on soft opening.
