Taco stand in Shangri-La to shut down on April 30 after 18 years
It sold more than Mexican food.
(SPOT.ph) Mexicana Food Corner, otherwise known as Taco Cabana—you may not know it by name, but you've definitely walked by at some point. Maybe even bought a platter of "natchos" or a taco or two through the years. It's the quiet stall on the fourth floor of the "old" Shangri-La Plaza across Toys 'R' Us and right in front of those baby clothes stores.
Apart from a fiesta of corn chips, tacos, corndogs, and actual corn, which tided you over in between strenuous shopping trips way back when, Mexicana Food Corner also had a stand full of pantry chocolates like Crunch and Maltesers, and, in some occasions, rare makeup and skincare creams.
The stall announced their impending closure via a small white sign. Their last day is on April 30, after 18 years of service.
