Adobo-Flavored Salted Egg? Find It in Manila
They come in other flavors, too!
(SPOT.ph) Bored with your run-of-the-mill salty salted egg? Flavor your life. We found flavored salted eggs in Manila.
Flavored salted eggs became a thing in 2013, when a professor from Occidental Mindoro State College won at the Department of Science and Technology's Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE). It's only now, however, that we're seeing them on Manila shelves.
We discovered this particular brand, Victorino and Virginia's Farm, at Robinsons Magnolia's supermarket. It comes in four flavors: Adobo, Garlic, Cheese, and Basil. A carton of six costs P100.
We haven't tried it yet with the usual favorite combo of tuyo and kamatis (the garlic might work great with that!), but we have a feeling these flavored salted eggs will bring a different layer of taste to many dishes.
