CHECK IT OUT: Merkado Supermarket at UP Town Center, Quezon City

What kind of grocery does an Ayala Land-Puregold partnership produce? We went to find out.

(SPOT.ph) It took a while, but UP Town Center finally has a supermarket! It's called Merkado, which means "market," and it was developed from a partnership between the Ayala Land and Puregold Price Club Inc. We're giving you a first look at this brand-new mid-range grocery store in photos:

Freshly baked bread.

They're incredibly affordable. A box of Spanish bread is only P10.25.

The day's fresh catch

Just some of the unique finds we saw: Dulce de Leche jars and artichoke hearts!

Make Your Own Milkshakes

This may seem trivial, but we appreciate the wide aisles.

For those birthday emergencies...Dulcelin is also providing some cakes and pies for the week.

Non-mainstream sodas

Interesting range of wines

The Cheese Section

Coldstone Creamery delivers from their shop on the second floor!

Fruits and vegetables galore!

Merkado is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday to Thursday) and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Friday to Sunday).
