We all need to celebrate National S'mores Day
A s'mores brownie, s'mores Italian ice, and s'more!
(SPOT.ph) When we celebrate Thanksgiving in the Philippines, we're not having an identity crisis or being a traitor to our own history. We're just celebrating this gracious bird and its sudden availability in stores and restaurants. So, when the U.S. declares August 10 (which is today in Philippine time) National S'mores Day, we just want to show respect for the campfire favorite. After all, we should all welcome an excuse to enjoy s'mores.
We already have a list to help you get through this "holiday" (10 S'mores-Inspired Desserts You Didn't Know You Were Craving), but if you're looking for more toothsome solutions, we have other suggestions:
Fresh from celebrating Cheesecake Day, Nikko's Baking Studio is quick to launch a weeklong drive (up until August 14)—offering a complimentary S'mores Bar for every P250 purchase. This brownie topped with toasted marshmallows and a sliver of Hershey's chocolate is an instant dessert, but we're also having a slice of Chef Nikko's bestselling mocha cake to go with that. Read more about Nikko's Baking Studio.
Then, there's Fat Daddy's in Marikina, which takes a very classical approach to this treat...then sticks crispy bacon in it because you deserve more in your s'more. Read more about Fat Daddy's.
At Rita's Italian Ice, a hot dish becomes cool with their bestselling S'mores Cream Ice Gelati with optional crushed grahams. Read more about Rita's Italian Ice.
Cool camp-out The Appraisery has a subtler approach. Their Kumbaya Iced Coffee makes only a light reference to being around the campfire, but those flavors are unmistakable. It's an iced espresso with crushed graham crackers, crushed peanuts, caramel, and marshmallow syrup. Read more about The Appraisery.
Where will you get your s'mores fix today?
