You're having adobo flakes for breakfast tomorrow
Our review of Army Navy's newest breakfast option
(SPOT.ph) Looks like Army Navy is on a roll. Back in July, SPOT.ph broke the news that the casual-dining chain was churning out churros in selected branches, and now, less than a month later, those crispy "donuts" (P85) are available in all of their Luzon shops.
Another new addition is the Adobo Flakes (P165), which joins their relatively fresh all-day breakfast menu. They're not exactly the crispy floss we've gotten accustomed to with other meaty flakes, but there's a good depth of flavor integrated in every succulent forkful. The dish, topped with a great deal of garlic (the way everybody likes it), calls to mind another brekkie favorite, tapa, but we're not complaining. The chunks of chicken boast a lovely salty taste reinforced by the garlic chips, a runny fried egg, and atchara. The heap of rice gets a shower of annatto oil and, what else, more garlic!
It's still hard to top the already established Breakfast Burrito, but for days when you crave a traditional Pinoy breakfast, the Adobo Flakes is a pretty super alternative.
