Sneak Peek: Costa Coffee in Bonifacio Global City

Dibs on the Union Jack couch!

( Fans of Friends are always looking for their Central Perk in Metro Manila. That one place where they can hang out every day, sit on the same seat, and be friends with their own personal Gunther. We may have just found ours. The new Costa Coffee at One World Place, 32nd Street, Bonifacio Global City, even comes complete with a cozy couch.

We have to talk about this couch. It's a long cushioned bench, with Costa Philippines' trademark Union Jack and made of a soft, silky material very much unlike those rough scratchy ones we see, or rather, feel so often. Costa Coffee Philippines' general manager Corinne Milagan tells us that the fabric is stain-proof. If any customer spills even a drop of their famous Flat White on it, the staff can easily wipe it off without a trace. It's a minor detail, but a testament to the level of dedication this coffee chain is committed to. The same way their electric outlets are painted to match the walls (plus there are so many of them to please the laptop-toting coffee junkies) and espresso shots are prepped only upon order (service is longer but the taste better).

Every Costa branch has a bespoke table made from upcycled wood.

There will always be a telephone booth, too!

It falls in between Costa Eastwood and Costa Ermita.

The cozy couch is situated right beside the entrance where it gets maximum natural light and, consequently, the best Instagram angle. Costa BGC has seating for every kind of coffee-shop necessity—dimmer space for more intimate rendezvous at the far end, bar stools for solo sipping, big tables for meetings, and small setups for a casual catch-up.

Corinne also informs us that the BGC outlet's opening on October 27 will also be the city-wide launch of Costa's new dishes and pastries. Just as with their previous offerings, Corinne is incredibly hands-on with their food items and she personally collaborates with suppliers to come up with a one-of-a-kind menu. We're counting down the days to these:

Costa only uses dark chocolate for their cake bases to create not-too-sweet cakes that really highlight the chocolate flavor.

Not your grandmother's chocolate cake. It's bittersweet and impeccable.

This is their version of a revel bar and the flavor of oatmeal comes through nicely.

This super moist red velvet cake is made extra special with a frosting that's part cream cheese, part white chocolate.

The Dessert Pies (P110): S'mores, Key Lime that's spiked with calamansi, and Banana Chocolate Cream

New sandwich: Philly Cheesesteak!

These cupcakes are already available in store. Costa will be coming up with new Christmas-themed ones once Halloween is over. They're coming out with Christmas drinks, too!

Don't insult your Flat White is a few spoonfuls of sugar. Have it with a cake instead.

Costa Coffee at One World Place, 32nd Street, Bonifacio Global City, will open to the public on October 27. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday to Friday) and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday). Those who order the Mocha Cream Frostino with a British accent from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. will get their drink for free. Watch for their holiday line, too!
