10 Delicious Food Gifts Everyone Will Love This Christmas

Nothing beats offering something yummy for Christmas!

(SPOT.ph) When you're all out of ideas for gifts, let us remind you that food never fails. They're practical; they're personal; they're well-intended (hello, everyone needs it); and with food entrepreneurs upping their packaging game lately, they're definitely beautiful.

Don't make a food gift your last resort. At least not these 10, which are our go-to, fail-safe presents this year!

The Bakeshop's Funky Monkey (P355)

Made of Belgian milk chocolate, rice crispies, and marshmallows, the Funky Monkey has been the long-time bestselling chocolate bar of The Bakery. This year, however, it recently underwent a makeover. Ace fashion designer Rajo Laurel created exquisite new packaging for this chocolatey treat. The Funky Monkey is dressed in four brocade-inspired patterns, featuring vivid flowers and bright birds. It's such a fashionably simple gift idea!

The Bakeshop is at EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.

Zin Manila's Gourmet Finishing Salt (P250+/bottle)

According to a Proverb, you're not supposed to "give neither advice nor salt unless you are asked for it," but Zin Manila makes it sooo hard to resist giving them as presents. A shake of salt goes a long way in terms of flavor, after all. Sriracha Salt, Natural Sea Salt, Triple Pepper Salt are only some of their many choices. The bottles are not only gorgeous, they're practical, too (they're adjustable grinders!). Order the gift box (add P30) to share three of your faves or buy a bunch and mix and match your own care packages.

Jacob's Peanut Praline Butter (P180 to P190/each)

This isn't your grade-school peanut butter. Jacob's takes the nuts, turns them to pralines, then churns that out to peanut praline butter. Look as it as an upgrade—or as an adult version. They also come in flavors like matcha and hot chili (sweet at first with a slow, hot interruption). You can eat it with a spoon, smear it on bread, drizzle it over ice cream, lather it on waffles, top it with chocolate. This is a gift that keeps giving!

The Fruit Garden's Festive Collection (P350 to P2,500)

We've been fans of Pierre Marmonier's work since Day 1. He creates the most exquisite, most detailed artisan jams (using local ingredients) wrapped in such chic (and practical!) packages. For this season, the quiet Frenchman takes inspiration from Champagne, France, with two bold flavors: Strawberry Champagne and Spiced Peach Champagne. Pierre's delicious jams are great on desserts (or on their own), but they work well with savory dishes as well.

The Fruit Garden offers their jams in gorgeous gift-ready sets. There are sampler boxes (Classic Discovery and Champagne Discovery) with six assorted jams; our personal favorite, the Wave, a pair in stackable jars; a simple three-piece box, a five-jam collection, and even some complete with champagne or capiz balls.

For orders, contact The Fruit Garden at pierre@thefruitgarden.net.

Mister Delicious' Meat Slab Box (P2,400)

For your carnivorous friend who gets all tingly at the sight of meats, Mister Delicious has come up with a hefty gift that's partly beefy, partly porky. It comes with 500 grams of smoked ham, 500 grams of applewood bacon (slab), 500 grams corned beef brisket, bread and butter pickles, and smoked Zambales sea salt.

For orders, contact Mister Delicious at all 0947-990-3747; sales@mrdelicious.ph. Pick-ups are at Mister Delicious, Century City Mall, Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City.

Nipa Brew's Mead (P395)

Here's something elegant, unique, and local! Nipa’s mead is a light and sweet alcoholic drink that even non-drinkers would love thanks to the flavor from the honey. Nipa has a proudly local stand and their honey is sourced from bee farms in Laguna and Batangas.

Earth Desserts' Brownies (P180/box of six)

Who wouldn't want a box of brownies for Christmas? These babies are so darkly delicious, deep, bittersweet, chocolatey, nutty, and fudgy. Oh, did we forget to mention that they're vegan? Our only problem is we might gobble everything up before we even reach for the wrapping paper.

Just for Christmas, Earth Desserts is also launching festive peppermint brookies (P200/dozen).

For orders, contact Earth Desserts at 743-4414; earthdesserts@gmail.com.

Bundt and Brulee's Cake Crates (P450 to P850)

This rustic crate is tied up with an adorable bow, all ready to be given and received. It comes with either nine or 12 mini bundts featuring up to three flavors (our personal favorites are the Red Velvet, Twinkies, and Chocolate Crinkle). Each cake is soft, spongy, with a creamy core that adds just the right touch of sweetness. Bundt and Brulee can actually customize their minis according to your preferred cake and cream! For an additional P260, you can add two bottles of Slurp's heady Cold Brew (in Original Blend and Salted Caramel).

For orders, contact Bundt and Brulee at 0905-270-0785; bundtandbrulee@gmail.com.

Salata (P240 to P1,000)

Spread the love this Christmas with some outstanding spreads, sauces, and salad dressings. The exquisite bottles are gift-ready to begin with, but they've come up with a cool new carton perfect for Christmas! The gift parcels can carry anything from two-piece sets (P40 to P650), three-piece sets (P610 to P845), and four-piece sets (P890 to P1,000). You can pick your flavors and match them with some healthy snacks. We're partial to the Garlic Caesar Dressing, seasonal Maple Miso Vinaigrette, Sweet & Spicy Red Pepper Sauce, and Backyard BBQ Sauce.

For orders, contact Salata at 0915-819-9888; hello@salata.ph.

Pufft Marshmallows (P280/box of six)

Are they marshmallows or are they flavored clouds? These homemade pillows come in quirky flavors like Lemon Souffle, Strawberries and Cream, Salted Caramel, Mint Chocolate, Gourmet Vanilla, and Chocolate Cookies & Cream. You can enjoy them as is, but we love melting them and smoothing them on to stuff. Try making fluffernutters with these fun things! Or how about slicing them into tiny cubes and throwing them into hot chocolate?
