"Charcoal" froyo to be available in Manila on December 2
That's when BLK 513 opens.
(SPOT.ph) The curious boarded-up space in SM Megamall across from the recently opened Paper Moon will soon be home to even curiouser treats. BLK 513, which is opening on December 3, will be specializing in Charcoal-enchanced Frozen Yogurt.
We can tell you have a strange experssion on your face. Don't be so shocked. Cookie emporium Scout's Honor in Century City Mall has been selling Charcoal Milk since it opened. Using charcoal to "improve" on dessert isn't a novel concept, and though BLK 513 will be the first to offer this kind of froyo in the Philippines, it's lately been a trend in other Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia.
Some of the benefits of infusing activated charcoal is to help in detoxification, anti-aging, heart health, and bloating. BLK 513 uses only U.S. premium, gluten-free, all-natural Greek yogurt sans artificial sweeteners and flavors.
Taste-wise, it doesn't make a huge difference—especially when you load it up with your favorite froyo toppings!
Customers who drop by on opening day get a buy-one-take-one treat. BLK 513 is at 2/F SM Mega A, Mandaluyong City.
This article has been revised. BLK 513 will open to the public on December 3, Thursday.
