(SPOT.ph) Trust us, you would want to get "robbed" at this puntastic restaurant. The ribs at Highway Ribbery Grille are so addictive, you can be sure you'll get "held up"—especially on Mondays to Wednesdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. when they offer unlimited chicken wings.

This is a punny place.

 

 

No frills. All you need are ribs.

 

Co-owner April de Luna explains that what they wanted to bring to Filipinos was more than just good food. Their food comes in hefty portions because they wanted to encourage bonding with family, barkada, and colleagues. 

 

Poutine

 

Start with the Poutine (P195), their version of french fries topped with a generous helping of pulled pork, bacon bits, and cheese sauce. It's a good way to start whetting your appetite.

 

Pork Ribs

 

 

Make your rice dirty.

 

Highway Ribbery Grille’s Pork Ribs (P500) are served with rice, corn, and coleslaw. The porks falls right off the bone and comes slathered in the restaurant's signature BBQ sauce. Add P50 to turn your plain rice (as you should) to a "dirty." You'll get to appreciate the full-bodied flavors of the ribs.

 

 

A beautiful mess care of the Texas Bomb Burger

 

Highway Ribbery Grille also has one of the tastiest burgers in town. The best part about the Texas Bomb Burger (P265) is the surprise egg in the middle—it's a beautiful soft yolk (think ajitama in your favorite ramen) that drenches the burger in a rich gooeyness. The yolk works so well with the heat of the jalapeños and the crunchiness of the bacon. Tip: Wash everything down with a mug of their House-blended Iced Tea (P125)!

 

 

Their Chicken Wings (P250) come in six original blends: classic BBQ, sweet chili glazed, lemon pepper salt, red devil (fiery hot!), parmesan butter, and salt and pepper. The parmesan butter is your best bet. It's smooth, delicate, salty, rich—a shouting match of flavors that actually turn out to be exceptionally coherent. 

 

 

Lastly, cap off your meal with a nice serving of their Ice Cream Sandwich (P125), vanilla ice cream squished by two very large dark chocolate cookies. A sweet, decadent note is a fitting end to the meat extravaganza. 

 

Just like its name, Highway Ribbery Grille is a steal.
