Where to find Frozen Custard Cakes in Manila
Put the ice cream cake back in the freezer!
(SPOT.ph) Rita's Italian Ice has taken their custard and ice permutations a step further by introducing their latest treat: Frozen Custard Cakes, the first and only ones available in the Philippines.
Frozen custard is creamier and denser than ice cream so we're sure that the cakes will turn out to be delightfully rich and cool thanks to the swirls of Italian ice embedded in the cake. The cakes are made in the Philippines, with ingredients sourced from the U.S.
The Frozen Custard Cakes, which rounds up Rita's entire dessert line in the Philippines, are currently available only at the Greenhills flagship. So far, we know they have the Signature Gelati Cake—Old-Fashioned Vanilla Custard topped with sprinkles—and the Oreo, which comes with crushed cookies and cream on top.
Rita's Italian Ice is a dessert shop that specializes in frozen custard and Italian ice (incredibly fine and smooth shaved ice). It opened in Philadelphia in 1984. The Philippine franchise was launched in November 2014 and currently has branches all over Manila.
