Only a few days left till The Goose Station draws their curtains for good

Another good restaurant bites the dust.

The Goose Station's version of an Eggs Benedict.


( At least the Pengsons took it slow. First they shut down their eclair sensation Gourmandise, then it was its offshoot Shine Bakery + Cafe, then it was Margherita pizza favorite Olive Tree Kitchen + Bar. Now, culinary power couple Rob and Sunshine Pengson's first endeavor together, The Goose Station, will close on February 15.


The Goose Station. It's a play on the word "degustacion," and when it opened in 2008, it was one of the first restaurants in Metro Manila to offer—or at least make relevant, the art of tasting menus. 


Chef Rob shared a heartbreaking message on his Instagram account: "It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the closing of The Goose Station on February 15, 2016." The celebrity chef also narrated how The Goose Station takes its cue from a restaurant they tried during their honeymoon in San Sebastian, Spain. "[We] were completely inspired to open our restaurant that focused on small tasting menu plates without the stiffness of fine dining."


In 2008, columnist JJ Yulo described The Goose Station this way: "In their little corner of Taguig, they are pushing food forward in their own little that reflects their passions, their travels, their shared experiences, and palate. This is food with integrity, and I can't wait to see what their next menu will look like."


In 2015, Chef Rob shared that he planned on serving à la carte options. 



For their last hurrah, The Goose Station is planning a special Valentine's Day menu.
