5 Meat-Free Specials for the Lenten Season

Seafood and other healthy combinations to help you with that Lenten sacrifice

(SPOT.ph) The Lenten season has already begun, and with it comes the return of your favorite seafood meals—and some new ones to help you stay true to your Lenten sacrifice, if you've chosen to make one. Avoiding meat is going to be a lot easier with the assorted seafood dishes specially created by restaurants just for the season.

CaliBurger (P155)

You can still eat burgers without the guilt. Enjoy a Fish Fillet burger which has fish coated in crispy tempura batter, fresh tomato and lettuce, and a special avocado sauce.

CaliBurger is at 118 Timog Avenue (across GMA Network Center), Sacred Heart, Quezon City.

B&B Burger and Brewskies

If you’re looking for an alternative to fish, B&B Burger and Brewskies’ Don’t Have A Cow is here to help. Some of the healthy ingredients that make up this burger: red lentils and bulgur wheat patty with roasted garlic aioli, B&B Curry Ketchup, and shiitake mushrooms sauteed with garlic and onions in a whole wheat bun.

B&B Burger and Brewskies is at Unit E, Bellagio II, Forbes Town Center (Burgos Circle), Bonifacio Global City.

Manang’s Chicken

We know you go to Manang’s for the chicken, but for Lent, have a go at their Seafood Duo: Calamari Pops N’ Chips (P80) and Crunchy Fish Pops N’ Chips (P70). They’re only available until March 27 so catch them while you can.

It’s hard to resist Morganfield’s ribs, but for the meantime you can try out their special meals: Sesame Shrimp Salad, Beer Battered Fish Fillets, Pan Fried Sea Bass, Blackened Salmon, and Seafood Basket.

Morganfield’s is at 2/F Uptown Mall, 9th Avenue corner 36th Street, Bonifacio Global City.

Keep your Lenten commitment by skipping Mexicali’s beef burrito and paying attention to their Baja California Fish Taco (P135) and Calamares a la Romana (P199) which are equally flavorful.
