Leni Robredo is now an ice cream flavor

It's called PiliLENI.

Papa Diddi's PiliLENI

(SPOT.ph) The newest flavor at Papa Diddi's Handcrafted Ice Cream Company is as simple and classic as can be: mango and nuts—but with a very Pinoy perspective. It features local mangoes and pili nuts, and it's dedicated to vice presidential aspirant, Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo

Paul Perez, the shop's owner, designed the flavor to demonstrate his support for Robredo. "We are a company that only uses produce from local farms. As a social enterprise, we feel we the need to support initiatives or create one to enhance the standing of Filipino farmers," he explains.

He chose mango for its bright hue (yellow is the Liberal Party's color of choice) and its summery notes, and pili to represent Robredo's roots—she hails from the Bicol region. "It's simple and no frills, because that is how we observed [Robredo] to be," he tells us.

The PiliLENI shows Paul's vote of support, but Papa Diddi's isn't closing the door on other candidates. "We are currently reviewing the stand of other candidates on agriculture, their views about and programs for farmers. If we agree with them, then they might merit a flavor."
