This 13-year-old bakes the fluffiest ensaymadas we've tried
He just turned 13. What have you been doing with your life?
(SPOT.ph) A love for eating turned into a love for cooking, which eventually developed into a skill for baking—this is how it started for Christian Tueres. The 13-year-old, also known as "The Little Baker Boy," is making rounds on social media for his picture-perfect ensaymadas.
His mom, Christine, told us that she would come home to a new dessert made by Christian—usually chocolate. She suggested that he try to bake ensaymadas and the ever meticulous teen took weeks to perfect his recipe. He refuses to divulge the ingredients, only saying that they're gourmet.
This summer, the enterprising honor student decided to sell his ensaymada creations to earn a little money. Christine said that he's proud to be making his own money. "Pang college niya raw."
The Little Baker Boy currently has two ensaymada varieties: a cheese-topped regular (P500/dozen) and an extra cheesy version with a cheese filling (P600/dozen). Either is incredibly fluffy and airy, with the flavor of cheese just tapping into your taste buds. Each bun is incredibly nuanced and delicate.
Christian is also experimenting with other breads and baked goods, like a Mediterranean olive bread and cookies.
