(SPOT.ph) Make that two Japanese restaurants—technically. The Raintree Group, the company behind Chelsea Grand Cafe, Chelsea Kitchen, Saboten, Museum Cafe, and Stella, among others, is set to open their latest concept: Izakaya Sensu at Net Park, 28th Street corner 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City.
This Japanese gastropub, which may very well become a post-work tradition, is a collaboration with Piglet from Tokyo, Japan. Raintree tells us that they're planning to provide a non-traditional izakaya experience, serving modern twists on Japanese pub grub while still maintaining the spirit of authentic Japanese cuisine.
On the other hand, Chotto Matte, described as "a hidden gem...from the high energy back alleys of the Golden Gai district of Tokyo," will work like a speakeasy within the restaurant. It also boasts "fresh beats, cool cocktails, artisanal sake, and the best Kakubin Highballs in town."
The opening is tentatively scheduled for July 9, but until then, here are some of the drinks and dishes you should look forward to:
The Bungalow comes with Suntory Special Blended Whisky, housemade grapefruit syrup, fresh mint, fresh grapefruit, lemon, blood orange bitters, soda water.
Modern Japan consists of Bombay Sapphire Gin, shiso-infused soju, Martini Bianco, pink ginger.
The Dragon Roll comes with unagi, cucumber, flying fish roe, and crispy tempura flakes
Uni Ika Ruibe is a sea urchin “ice candy” that's frozen and wrapped in squid.
