This "cafeteria" sets a new standard for office dining

The Mess Hall


( We've all heard this story before—mainly because it happened to us, too. When you start living behind a desk, you start gaining weight. It could be the freedom of earning your own money, it could be the short distance between your cubicle and a fast-food joint, it could be stress eating, it could be another round of the "Freshman 15." Food tastes so much better when you're working.


So, when The Moment Group opened their office "cafeteria" to the public, it was good news to those who enjoyed a hearty meal, but bad news to their pants sizes. 


The Mess Hall opened just in time for the launch of Moplex—Moment's headquarters. Located on the ground floor and complete with communal tables and a self-service counter, The Mess Hall feels like a stylized version of an actual mess hall. The menu will operate on a "pop-up" basis, with Moment brands shifting cooking responsibility. 



Currently, modern Filipino concept Manam is taking the reins in the kitchen, presenting 19 of their bestsellers—from the Sinigang of Short Rib and Watermelon to the Lechon Batchoy. 


Other Moment Group concepts include 'Cue Modern Barbecue, Ooma, PHAT Pho, 8 Cuts, Din Tai Fung, and Linguini Fini. Our fingers our crossed that maybe, just maybe, their degustacion eatery Mecha Uma might make a contribution, too. 


The Mess Hall is at Moplex, 2316 Karrivin Plaza, Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati City; open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday to Friday). It will be closed on holidays.
